In March of 1975 Gary Smith of Claxton, Georgia decided he wanted to start his own swimming pool business. Three weeks after walking into the bank to start his business loan, he built his first pool! This was a very exciting rush, considering he was completely new to the whole concept. The first customers were satisfied and Pride Pool Co. later turned into Pride Pools, Spas & Leisure Inc., what it is today.

Pride Pool Co. originated in Claxton, Georgia with its first location. From there, the company continued to grow and opened three locations in Savannah, Georgia. After this, Mr. Smith was able to open a location in Statesboro, Georgia and Brunswick, Georgia. He later decided to change Pride Pool Co. to Pride Pools & Spas Inc. because he also bought a spa company, changing the name to Spa Crest and moving it to Claxton.

At one point Pride Pools & Spas Inc. was the largest pool company in five states.

Owners

Pride Pools & Spas Inc. had installed over 3000 pools to satisfied customers over a broad range area. This area started to spread year by year with the help of word of mouth and advertising. This small town individual had big city dreams and they were coming true one by one. The company has grown tremendously and added more products each year by public request. In March of 1999 Mr. Smith turned the company over to three of his children and decided it was time to retire. The children decided to name the company Pride Pools, Spas & Leisure Products Inc. At this point there were three locations: Retail-Claxton, Georgia, Retail-Savannah, Georgia and Service-Savannah, Georgia.

In 2010 Pride Pools celebrated its 35 year anniversary, all year with several sales and promotions along the way. Today, Pride Pools continues to sell products, build pools and service your area. We have been making backyard dreams come true since 1975
